Power Outage in Ridgeway, NC

Central NC was largely under the influence of a mid-level ridge of high pressure. There also existed strong westerly flow at mid-levels further to the north across the upper Mississippi Valley into the northern Mid-Atlantic. An Appalachian lee trough was present across western NC, which forced some isolated to scattered showers and storms during the afternoon and evening, persisting as isolated storms into the early overnight hours. There was one severe storm that produced several downed trees and powerlines in Warren County.

Thunderstorm Wind. Multiple trees and powerlines were reported down near the intersection of Country Club Lane and NC Highway 58.

Winter Storm. One-quarter to one-half of an inch of ice from freezing rain downed numerous trees across the county, causing numerous power outages.
