Freezing Fog. Multiple days of freezing fog led to rime ice accumulation on power lines. This led to 707 services and three substations loosing power in the McIntosh, Logan, and Emmons County areas. McIntosh County was hardest hit with the loss of eight power poles.

February 01, 2021

Ice Storm. Power outages occurred throughout the county. The power cooperative that serves mainly rural portions of McIntosh County reported 15-three phased poles near Lehr were snapped, along with multiple other poles and lines. 1,050 meter-services in rural areas experienced outages which are served by nine substations. The investor owned utility which serves many of the communities reported multiple primary and secondary feeds down, with some communities going without power until December 29.

December 25, 2016

Thunderstorm Wind. Strong winds were reported from three miles north of Zeeland to 10 miles north of Zeeland. Law enforcement reported multiple downed power poles. A camper was rolled, and damage occurred at a farmstead approximately six miles north of Zeeland, with a grain auger blown over and a temporary grain enclosure ruined. A house was also shifted off of its foundation. Multiple mature trees were uprooted and others snapped.

June 21, 2015

Blizzard. Wind gusts up to near 50 mph combined with falling snow and existing loose snow cover to create widespread blizzard conditions across McIntosh County. The strong winds and blizzard conditions resulted in additional downed power lines and delayed the repair of existing downed power lines. The total estimated damage from this storm (January 18th through January 25th) was over two million dollars.
