Severe thunderstorm moved across Dawes County producing hail stones up to ping pong ball size. Due to outflow wind gusts, Chadron Public Radio reported power outages to 450 customers covered by the Nebraska Public Power District.

Tornado. NWS damage survey confirmed EF-2 Tornado that developed 5.8 miles east of Marsland and traveled west-northwest for 3.4 miles. Several large hardwood tree trunks/branches snapped. Trees uprooted, center pivot point mangled and three steel power poles were destroyed.

Blizzard. Conditions measured at the Chadron Airport and Nebraska Department of Roads sensors. COOP observer located three miles southwest of Chadron measured 12.0 inches of snowfall in addition. The strong winds and snow also contributed to area power outages in the Crawford area.

Thunderstorm Wind. An estimated wind gust of 70 mph was reported four miles west of Chadron. Tree branches were snapped off. Power lines were down. A couple of trailers were overturned at a mobile home park.
