Neodesha Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
A microburst caused major damage along Tank Ave. between 4th and 8th streets. Trees were uprooted and power poles were snapped off.
Around 0.25 inch of glaze accumulated on trees and power lines 5 miles north of Altoona. Road surfaces were beginning to freeze.
In Fredonia, the dispatcher reported that roads and highways were ice rinks. There was damage to trees of unknown sizes along with reportedly downed power lines. Vehicles slid off roads and highways across the county along with some power outages.
A few power poles were knocked down along 4th Street knocking out power to Neodesha. This power outage left 3500 people without power for most of the day.

A powerful cold front surged southeast across the area during the evening hours of October 30th. Strong to severe elevated thunderstorms developed behind the cold front across Southeast Kansas during the late evening hours, as a potent upper level disturbance approached from the west.
