July 22, 2013 - Thunderstorm Wind

Law enforcement officials reported trees and power lines blown down by thunderstorm wind gusts estimated up to 70 mph (61 knots) in a 6-mile wide swath between New Glarus and Monticello. New Glarus was completely without power for a time after the storms.

Emergency management officials reported trees and numerous power lines were blown down throughout the county by severe thunderstorm wind gusts estimated at 56 knots (64 mph). A window at a car dealership in Monroe was blown out by the damaging winds.

A trained spotter reported trees and power lines downed by powerful thunderstorm wind gusts estimated at 80 mph (74 knots) in the town of New Glarus. One car was totally damaged when struck by a falling tree, with roof shingles blown off several homes.
