Thunderstorm Wind. Two large transmission lines were blown down to the north of Fort Sumner. Power outages were reported throughout De Baca County. Damage amounts are a very rough estimate due to an unknown length of wire damage.

A powerful supercell thunderstorm that developed over the high plains of eastern New Mexico moved slowly east into De Baca County and produced large hail south of Fort Sumner. Half dollar size hail was reported along State Road 20 south of Fort Sumner along with two inches of rainfall. No significant damage was noted from the hail.

Flash Flood. Heavy rain caused all of the creeks to overflow their banks and washout a few roads. The spotter measured 3.5 inches of rain caused this flooding. Power was out for a while before returning around 945 am. No other damage was reported.
