Severe thunderstorm wind gusts downed a few power poles in rural northwest McDonald County.

January 12, 2007 - Ice Storm

One to one and a half inches of ice accumulations impacted the northwestern half of McDonald County. The southeastern half experienced only light amounts. Significant tree and power line damage occurred from this storm.

July 4, 2004 - Thunderstorm Wind

A derecho developed over southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma, and tracked across McDonald county during the early morning hours of July 4th. Sustained winds up to 75 mph were estimated from the National Weather Service storm survey. Numerous power lines and trees were downed along with random structural damage to homes countywide.
