Recent Weather Related Causes of Power Outages in Otsego County

A cold front pushed a line of thunderstorms with strong wind gusts and some large hail, from west to east through several counties of Central New York. There were some reports of downed trees and power lines. Ahead of the main line of storms, a tornadic storm developed in Sullivan County. An NWS survey rated the tornado as an EF-2. Surveyed areas included multiple downed trees and structures that sustained damage including a couple of old barns that were destroyed. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities.
