An intense low pressure system crossed into the Ohio Valley during the early morning hours on the 13th, with a strong line of thunderstorms aligned along a surface cold front. A tightened pressure gradient formed over southeast Ohio, inflicting strong synoptic winds outside of convection causing isolated power outages due to fallen trees and limbs. A local mesonet in Lawrence County measured a gust of 36 MPH. Along with strong winds, the West Fork of Duck Creek at Macksburg gage noted an overnight rise of its banks, which resulted in very minor flooding.

Severe thunderstorms entered into southeast Ohio on the evening of the 20th as an upper level disturbance crossed through the region. Strong wind gusts associated with these storms inflicted numerous tree and power line damage around the area.

Thunderstorm Wind. A downburst produced intermittent wind damage across eastern Washington County. The damage began, and was most widespread around Wingett Run where one barn was destroyed and a house had minor roof damage and the glass broken out of a storm door. The damage then extended eastward to the Ohio River in New Matamoras. Hundreds of trees were uprooted or snapped and numerous power lines were taken down along the roughly 9 mile path.
