An intense winter storm brought high winds and heavy mountain snow to parts of Southwest Idaho and Southeast Oregon from January fourth through fifth. Wind gusts to ninety six miles per hour and six to eight inches of snow were reported in the mountains. Gusts to sixty four miles per hour including wind damage to trees and power lines were reported in the Treasure and Magic Valleys of Southwest Idaho.

Flash Flood. Very heavy rain from slow moving Thunderstorms over the Twin Mountain area in NW Baker County caused severe flooding on Twin Creek and minor flooding on other streams that flow into the North Power River at the base of the mountain. The flooding put lots of mud and debris into the river which inturn clog up river fed irrigation systems on the valley floor around Haines.

Very strong Thunderstorms across Baker county produced a peak gust of 84 mph at the Oregon Trail Interpretive center, damaging several old wagons at the site. Wind gust to 60 mph at the airport and other reports of 60 to 70 mph winds blew down trees and power lines.
