Episodes
Low pressure and an associated cold front moved across the region. Showers and thunderstorms developed along the cold front. These produced damaging winds and hail up to one-inch in diameter. Near Williamstown the nickel- to quarter-size hail was three to four inches deep. The thunderstorm winds downed trees and power lines.
A cold front crossed New York State during the late morning/early afternoon hours. The thunderstorms that accompanied the front became stronger as the line approached the Genesee Valley and cross the Finger Lakes Region. The thunderstorm winds downed trees and power lines. Several roads were blocked. Storms that moved onshore from Lake Ontario across Oswego damaged solar panels and downed trees on the State University of New York at Oswego campus. In the City of Oswego, trees and power lines were also downed. As the storm moved further east multiple trees were downed in Albion. Falling trees damaged a mobile home, RV and barn.
Thunderstorms blossomed along a strong and nearly stationary lake breeze boundary that stretched from the Chautauqua Ridge to the Eastern Lake Ontario Region. Storms that developed over Oswego county reached severe limits. Thunderstorm winds downed trees and power lines near Richland, Fulton, Palermo and Mexico. Roads were closed by downed trees including State Route 13 at the Albion/Richland town line, the intersection of Hanson and Johnson Roads and Soper Mills Road in New Haven, and County Route 41 in Mexico. In Palermo, a mobile home was damaged by a falling tree on Sundown Road.
A cold front swept across New York State during the evening hours. Showers and thunderstorms preceded and accompanied the front. Hail up to one inch in diameter was reported in Victor, Macedon, Sodus and North Rose. Several of the thunderstorms produced damaging winds. Trees were downed in Macedon, Victor, Farmington, Fulton, Palermo and Amboy Center. Power poles and wires were downed by the winds in Wolcott.
Showers and thunderstorms developed as a warm front interacted with lake breeze boundaries during the evening hours. In the Town of Allegany an isolated thunderstorm produced winds that downed trees and power lines. Overnight, as the storms continue to move further east a couple of other storms in Oswego county produced damaging winds. In Schroeppel, downed trees blocked Route 264. In West Monroe, a falling tree damaged an automobile. Across the southern tier, rainfall totals from the storms approached two inches. Minor flooding issues were reported by the 911 centers.
