Powerful monsoonal thunderstorms produced flash flooding in the mountains of Ventura county. An officer with the Ventura County Sheriff Department reported flash flooding at the intersection of Lockwood Valley Road and Boy Scout Road. The officer reported water over 2 feet deep on Lockwood Valley Road.

A powerful winter storm brought significant rain, snow and wind to the area. Rainfall totals ranged from 1 to 2 inches across coastal and valleys areas with 2 to 4 inches in the foothills and mountains. With snow levels dropping to between 2500 and 3500 feet, significant snowfall was reported in the mountains (up to 1 to 2 feet) and even the Antelope Valley (4 to 8 inches). Numerous road closures due to winter storm conditions were reported, including Interstate 5 through the Grapevine as well as Highways 14 and 138. Additionally, thunderstorms generated a waterspout over the coastal waters as well as a very weak tornado over Ventura Harbor.

A powerful early-season winter storm moves across Southwestern California on Halloween night. The storm produced some significant rainfall with amounts in the coastal areas ranging from 0.25 to 1.50 while the mountains received up to 2.00. In the Camarillo area, near the Springs burn scar, a mud/debris flow occurred. Otherwise just some minor nuisance flooding was reported.

A very powerful Pacific storm brought heavy rain, snow and gusty winds to Central and Southern California. The storm dumped between 1.50 and 6 inches of rainfall across the area. This rainfall produced flash flooding in and aroung the burn areas of Ventura county while many areas reported nuisance street flooding. In the mountains of Ventura and Los Angeles counties, 10 to 18 inches of snowfall was reported. Along with the precipitation, gusty southeast to south winds buffeted the area. The strong and gusty winds combined with the snowfall in the mountains to produce dangerous winter storm conditions.

Gusty Santa Ana winds fueled a wildfire in the hills between the cities of Santa Paula and Somis. The fire, which burned over 360 acres, was started by downed power lines. No injuries were reported.
