Torrential rains resulted in flash flooding in northeastern Northampton County. Several home basements were flooded with two to five feet of water on Messinger Street in Bangor Borough as an underground creek rose and flooded. One family on Messenger Street was rescued. Two garages on the street were also damaged. Fuel oil leaked into the water. Flooding closed Messinger Road, Viaduct Road, South Main Street, and Rutt Road in the borough. No injuries were reported. Power was out to a number of homes for precautionary reasons also because water reached into the ground floor. The flooding occurred because of an underground creek near the headwaters of Martins Creek. Numerous streets were also flooded in Penn Argyl Borough.
