Strong northwest winds with gusts to over 60 MPH occurred on March 2nd and 3rd. In Harmony Township, the description was given that every road had some debris on it. A 25-year-old woman was injured when she was lacerated by the glass from a shattered window. Three homes along County Route 519 were severely damaged by fallen trees. The metal top of a silo was blown away and a couple of barn roofs were badly damaged. Metal corn cribs were tossed across open fields and several other homes had their chimneys torn from them. Stretches of County Route 519 and River Road were impassable. In Washington Township and Borough, numerous trees were knocked down on State Routes 57 and 31. The roads were reopened on Sunday the 14th. Over 30 poles were knocked down in Washington Borough. At least one home was damaged by a fallen tree. Trees were also knocked down in Belvidere Borough and Blairstown and Franklin Townships. GPU Energy reported 60,000 homes and businesses lost power in their northern New Jersey service area. Power was not completely restored until Tuesday the 16th.
