Trees and power lines were downed by a microburst, blocking Wiggins road near the intersection of Kirkland. The microburst traveled southeast to the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport in Polk county.
TECO reported downed power lines due to wind damage to numerous trees.
The broadcast media reported that thunderstorm winds produced widespread damage from near Plant City west to Thonotosassa. Thunderstorm winds destroyed two hangers and damaged eight small planes five miles north northwest of Plant City. Also, several large trees and power lines were downed by thunderstorm winds along U.S. Highway 301 near Hillsborough State Park. In Thonotosassa, thunderstorm winds overturned a trailer on Five Acre Road.
