Plattsmouth Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
Winds gusting to 40 to 50 mph caused a tree to fall on a power line and cause the power to go out to several hundred customers in Plattsmouth. Other trees were blown down west of Plattsmouth.
Substantial wind damage was reported in Plattsmouth. Trees down on most roads. |Power lines were blown down, with no power between Louisville, Plattsmouth, and Weeping Water. Maintenance building was destroyed. Several farmsteads on Highway 66 had buildings destroyed. There were 3 people injured in Plattsmouth.
Law enforcement and media reports indicated that numerous large tree limbs and power poles were downed from the strong winds associated with this line of thunderstorms.
Snowfall of 8 to 11 inches fell across Cass county with 11 inches reported in Eagle and 8 inches at Plattsmouth. The heavy wet snow caused some tree damage and a few power outages.

Approximately4,576 Nebraska Public Power District customers are without power following Wednesday's unprecedented storm. NPPD UPDATE: 304 CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCING OUTAGES. NPPD officials say the outages includeapproximately 1,609 customers in Humboldt, 1,116 customers in Plattsmouth, 733 customers in Kearney, 354 customers in the Sterling area, and 231 customers in Geneva. Crews are in the process of restoring power to these areas and others across the state.

The Nebraska Public Power District says it continues to restore power to customers after severe storms late Friday and early Saturday.

NPPD started early Saturday morning with approximately 8,800 customers across the state without power. Through approximately 3:30 p.m. that number was reduced to approximately 757 without power.
