Events
A tree fell on a house north of Pocahontas. A roof was blown off a factory building in Pocahontas and numerous power lines were downed.
Numerous trees and power lines were down across the county. A tree was blown onto a home near Pocahontas.
Straight-line wind damage was noted along Manson Road mainly west of US-67 south of Pocahontas near the community of Manson. Damage consisted of several uprooted and snapped trees, a destroyed outbuilding, and damaged power lines.
Multiple trees and power lines were blown down.
Episodes
An upper level low pressure system tracked from the Ozarks northeastward into the Mid-Mississippi Valley. Precipitation spread into Northeast Arkansas. Cold air was in place resulting in temperatures near or just below freezing. Precipitation fell in the form of freezing rain as a result. Ice accumulations were around a quarter of an inch across Randolph and Lawrence Counties. Numerous trees and power lines were knocked down across this area. Hazardous driving conditions occurred as well.
