A home weather station measured sustained winds of 61 MPH and a wind gust of 73 MPH. The wind uprooted pine trees which tore down power lines and blocked traffic.
National Weather Service damage survey concluded that straight-line thunderstorm winds, estimated between 60 and 65 mph, downed over 100 large trees, several branches, numerous power lines and caused minor roof and lanai damage along a one half mile long by two mile wide area over western Pasco county. The western boundary of the damage was near the intersection of Starkey and Oak Loop Roads while the eastern boundary was near the intersection of County Road 587 and DeCubellis Road, approximately seven miles east of Port Richey.Most of the downed trees occurred along DeCubellis Road near the intersection of River Ridge Boulevard near the River Ridge Golf Course east of Port Richey in western Pasco county.
