Pullman Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
Thunderstorm winds moved North from Oakesdale WA to Rockford WA. A weather station clocked gusts to 60 mph. It damaged or knocked down power lines and over 100 trees. It caused power outages around 3200 customers.
A tree fell into some power lines knocking out power to three customers.
A 6 inch limb broke off and damaged a fence four miles south of La Crosse, and the power line to a residence was pulled out by the strong winds. Tree limbs up to six inches in diameter were broken off five miles south-southeast of Winona. Finally, at least ten trees were blown over in the town of Endicott.
Strong outflow winds from a thunderstorm contributed to several downed power lines in Pullman with about 60 customers losing power. Six trees fell on roads, three trees fell on cars, and two power lines were downed.
Episodes
A strong outflow boundary from a thunderstorm resulted in damage to trees and power lines in Whitman and Asotin counties. Damages were reported in Pullman, Palouse, Albion, and Clarkston.
A strong thunderstorm moving up from the southwest tracked across Whitman County, knocking out power to 4,000 customers in the west part of the county as well as Colfax. West county areas that lost power included Diamond, Ewan, Ralston, and Marengo. Two power posts were broken dear the Shawnee substation.
