May 29, 2008 - Tornado
A storm chaser captured video of a tornado that started near Solomon Rapids and moved north. The tornado entered Jewell County from Mitchell County along Highway 14. Being in open and rural areas of Jewell County, only trees and a few power poles were damaged as well as some wheat fields.

A weak tornado, with peak winds estimated at 75 mph, touched down briefly southeast of Randall. Damage consisted of a few broken power poles, sheared off trees and a metal roof being torn from an outbuilding.
