A tornado touched down east of Oregon and tracked 7 miles across mainly rural portions of central Ogle County, dissipating just prior to reaching Stillman Valley. The majority of the damage along the path was to trees and power lines, though there was some structural damage, primarily to outbuildings and barns.

Tree damage was reported with power lines blown down in two mobile home parks near Stillman Road. A commercial seed building was damaged and a propane tank was moved.

The tornado touched down south of unincorporated Polo, just south of the intersection of Union Road and Judson Road. The roof of a cattle shed was blown off along Judson Road. Several beef cattle were in the shed and one was injured severely enough it had to be euthanized. A power pole on the east side of Union Road was blown down, leaning over the road toward the west. At this point the tornado was rated low end EF1 with winds estimated at 85-90 mph. The tornado widened slightly as it progressed to the east along Judson Road, and uprooted a 20 inch diameter fir tree. At this point the tornado was still at EF1 strength, and there were branches down. The tornado then moved east and its width widened to its maximum 200 yards. There was roof damage to sheet metal roofing on 4 buildings and a wood outbuilding that was left leaning over by the tornado. In this area several 2x4���s were speared into the ground from different directions and insulation was plastered on the east and northeast face of buildings. Another property just to the northeast of this point experienced six 16 inch diameter Norway Spruce trees snapped off, and a new wood power pole was snapped in half. It was here where the tornado reached its maximum intensity with winds at 100 mph. The tornado continued to the east maintaining its intensity (EF1 strength) another quarter mile to the east where a grain bin was ripped off its foundation and a portion of the roof blown off to the north up against a fence. After this the winds weakened as the tornado lifted. A couple of additional grain bins were blown over, small branches snapped off, and shingles blown off roofs. Winds were estimated at 70-80 mph. The tornado lifted at 10506 Judson Road at Bailey Road.

A corn crib was completely destroyed along Brookville Road, spilling about 18,000 bushels of corn. A machine shed was also destroyed at the same location. Roof and window damage was reported to other buildings in the area. Trees, tree limbs and power lines were also blown down. Windows were broken on a tractor.

Trees as large as two feet in diameter were blown down, some onto houses. Numerous utility poles and power lines were blown down. A phone tower was blown down on the west side of Mount Morris. A grain bin was blown down. Part of a roof was blown off and a building was leveled on the north side of Mount Morris. A barn on Holcomb Road was pushed off it's foundation and destroyed.

A large tree was blown down on Route 38 just east of Route 251. Tree limbs and power lines were blown down across parts of Rochelle. A motorcyclist collided with a tree limb that fell across a road, but no serious injuries were reported.

About a dozen big trees were blown down along with 20 to 30 smaller trees. Numerous tree limbs and power lines were also blown down. Part of the roof of a dealership was blown off. A semi-trailer was blown over on Interstate 39.

A severe thunderstorm blew down trees, tree limbs and power lines across a two block area of Mt. Morris. An estimated 25 trees lost large limbs or were completely blown over. Some damage to cars and siding of homes occurred.
