Salisbury Power Outages Caused by Weather

Spotter reported several trees and power poles blown down on along Old Mocksville Rd and other nearby areas on the north side of Salisbury. Another tree was down on Martin Luther King Jr Ave near downtown.
Emergency manager reported trees and power lines blown down on Goodman Lake Rd.
County comms reported numerous trees blown down with some on power lines in the Salisbury and Granite Quarry areas.
Public reported trees blown down on power lines.
County comms reported multiple trees and power lines blown from Mt Hope Church Rd across Peach Orchard Rd to the city of Salisbury where trees were down on Faith Rd Church St and Newsome Rd.

Lightning caused a power surge at a home on Wetmore Rd, igniting a fire that destroyed the home.
Numerous trees and power lines down, mainly in the Faith and Granite Quarry areas. A tree fell on part of a house on Mount Hope Church Rd, and another fell across a porch on Twin Like Dr. A roadside produce stand was destroyed on Goodman Lake Rd. Also, nickel size hail and estimated 60 mph winds were reported in Granite Quarry around this time.
A light freezing rain developed during the early morning hours across Alexander County, and by early afternoon, ice accumulation of around one quarter inch resulted in some fallen utility poles near Taylorsville. In Rowan County, fallen trees and power lines resulted in numerous power outages.
