Numerous trees and power lines were downed.
Large tree limbs and power lines down.
Intense cloud to ground lightning knocked out computer systems, telephones, televisions, and other electronic equipment over the middle portion of the county. The storm inflicted $6,000 worth of damage to the county courthouse in Saluda and lightning destroyed a 160-year old willow oak tree in front of the courthouse. The lightning also went through the phone and power lines, and caused $5,000 worth of damage to electronic equipment in the courthouse complex.
