Power Outage in Rion, SC

Thunderstorm Wind. Several trees and power lines were downed along Smallstown Rd near Old Chester Rd.

June 11, 2023

Tropical Storm. A tree was downed on SC Hwy 200 and Camp Welfare Rd at 0950 EST (1050 EDT). COOP observer in Longtown reported a storm total rainfall amount of 4.18 inches. A peak wind gust of 37 mph was recorded at the Fairfield Co Airport in Winnsboro at 1715 EST (1815 EDT). The Emergency Manager reported that a total of 17 trees were downed across the county, with 4 of them falling on power lines.

Ice Storm. Reports of ice accumulations of around 0.25 inches were received across the county. Numerous reports of downed trees, tree limbs, and power lines were received across the county.
