Tornado. The tornado developed just south of SD Highway 20 near mile marker 17, where it snapped power poles and trees near a house. A farm outbuilding was also severely damaged, with most of its exterior walls collapsed. Based on video evidence, the tornado then continued northward across rural areas northwest of Buffalo and crossed Clanton Road before dissipating. The tornado was rated an EF-2 with peak wind speeds estimated near 115 mph.
