Report of powerlines down at Fire Tower Rd and east Hermitage Rd.
The Floyd County Emergency Manager reported trees and power lines blown down across the County from around Cave Spring and Lindale through Rome to east of Shannon.
The Floyd County 911 Center reported that a number of trees and power lines were down across the county. WSR-88D radar data suggests that most of this damage likely occurred between Cave Spring and Lindale, Silver Creek, and the south side of Rome.
The Floyd County Emergency Management Director reported that seven trees were blown down, mostly on the northeast side of Rome. One tree was down on a home on East 2nd Street in Rome, causing major damage to the structure. Another large tree was down across Shannon Circle in Rome. Approximately six miles north to northeast of Rome, trees were down across Sam Harris, Bells Ferry, Bert, and Old Dalton Road. In Shannon, a tree was down across a power line on 2nd Street.
The Floyd County Emergency Management Director reported that numerous trees and power lines were blown down along Georgia Highway 53 in the Shannon area of northeast Floyd county. Eleven structures were damaged and at least 9000 customers were left without power for up to 12 hours or more.
