Straight-line winds gusting as high as 80 mph downed trees and utility poles causing widespread power outages throughout Sidney. Power was restored in three hours. A wind gust to 78 mph was measured at the Sidney airport at 1821 MST.

Severe thunderstorm moved across Cheyenne County producing hailstones up to one inch in diameter. Spotter noted that nearby crops were damaged and associated wind gusts from thunderstorm knocked down two power line poles.
