A National Weather Service survey found that an EF0 tornado with maximum wind speeds of 80 mph and a maximum path width of 50 yards touched down in eastern Floyd County near Maple Road in Lindale. The tornado traveled northeast producing spotty areas of damage to trees and power lines blocking several roads. in the 3100 block of Rockmart Road, approximately a dozen small trees were snapped on the west |side of the road. The Floyd County 911 center reported a power line blown down near the intersection of Spur 101 S.E. and Nelson Street S.E.

The Floyd County Emergency Management Director reported that strong wind gusts associated with a line of showers and isolated thunderstorms blew down at least a dozen trees across the county. An apartment building and adjacent garage were heavily damaged when a large oak tree fell on the structures. A vehicle was also damaged from a large downed tree limb. Some power lines were also impacted by the downed trees.

The Rome News Tribune reported that thunderstorm winds wreaked havoc on downtown Rome. The Civil War constructed Brock's Greek Revival Mansion, often referred to as "Sherman Oaks", was severely damaged when two 100-foot tall oak trees crashed through the roof. Nearby on the same street, debris from another storm damaged tree caused significant damage to a Ford Expedition. At the Knight's Tower Hill Apartment building, also constructed during the Civil War, a downed tree caused significant damage to a parked vehicle. Another large tree was toppled at the historic Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The tree fell near the cemetery's apex and caused damage to a wall at the Hight gravesight. The public reported that some power lines were down in the southeast part of Floyd county near Silver Creek. One person was injured as a result. Over 8000 residents in the county were without power much of the evening, either from downed power lines or lightning strikes to power lines.
