South winds gusted to 51 knots (59 mph) during the afternoon and early evening hours on Washington Island ahead of an approaching cold front. Intermittent power and internet outages were noted on Washington Island.

A vigorous upper level storm system moved across northern Wisconsin and produced locally heavy snow across Vilas County. The snow was enhanced by lake effect as cold air poured across Lake Superior. Twelve-hour snowfall totals were in the 6 to 9 inch range.||North winds were 20 to 30 mph across the region, with gusts in excess of 50 mph in Door County. Several trees were downed by the strong winds across northeast Wisconsin, causing sporadic power outages.

High winds developed across northeast Wisconsin when an area of low pressure intensified as it passed northeast of the state. The high winds downed numerous trees and tree limbs, and knocked out power to almost 25,000 customers.||Door County was hardest hit with more than 12,000 customers left without power. The Department of Natural Resources closed state parks in the county for several days during cleanup operations.||The highest measured wind gusts included 69 mph at Sister Bay (Door Co.), 68 mph at Chambers Island (Door Co.), 64 mph at Northport Pier (Door Co.), 60 mph at Sturgeon Bay (Door Co.), and 60 mph at Algoma City Marina (Kewaunee Co.).

Strong winds developed across northeast Wisconsin on the southwest flank of an intense low pressure system that moved across Lake Superior. The highest measured wind gust was 54 mph at Gills Rock (Door Co.). The strong gusts downed several trees, knocking them onto power lines, on Washington Island and across other parts of far northern Door County. Several boats were damaged at Ellison Bay and Gills Rock by the strong winds and high waves.||Other wind gusts in the region included 45 mph at Algoma (Kewaunee Co.) and 40 mph at Wausau (Marathon Co.), Marshfield (Wood Co.) and Green Bay (Brown Co.).

Winds of at least 60 mph hit Washington Island on the northern tip of Door County, damaging power lines, downing trees and causing damage to the roof of at least one house. Other strong wind reports included measured gusts of 57 mph at Washington Island and 56 mph at Bellevue (Brown Co.), and an estimated gust of 53 mph in Hortonville (Outagamie Co.).||The winds were the result of a strong low pressure system that moved across Wisconsin.
