Strong wind gusts, estimated as high as 55 mph, downed several trees, knocking them onto power lines on Washington Island and across other parts of far northern Door County. Several boats were damaged in Ellison Bay and Gills Rock by the strong winds and high waves.

Northwest winds of 40 to 55 mph buffeted northern Door County for several hours as a low pressure system moved away from Wisconsin. The high winds downed trees and power lines across the far northern part of the county. At the height of the storm, 1000 residents in Door County were without power, most in the northern part.||Two 20 foot sailboats were pushed onto the beach north of Sister Bay. A 26 foot cruiser sank and took part of the adjacent pier with it in Gills Rock as waves of 8 to 10 feet crashed the shore. Several other boats sustained minor damage.

South winds gusted to 51 knots (59 mph) during the afternoon and early evening hours on Washington Island ahead of an approaching cold front. Intermittent power and internet outages were noted on Washington Island.

A vigorous upper level storm system moved across northern Wisconsin and produced locally heavy snow across Vilas County. The snow was enhanced by lake effect as cold air poured across Lake Superior. Twelve-hour snowfall totals were in the 6 to 9 inch range.||North winds were 20 to 30 mph across the region, with gusts in excess of 50 mph in Door County. Several trees were downed by the strong winds across northeast Wisconsin, causing sporadic power outages.

High winds developed across northeast Wisconsin when an area of low pressure intensified as it passed northeast of the state. The high winds downed numerous trees and tree limbs, and knocked out power to almost 25,000 customers.||Door County was hardest hit with more than 12,000 customers left without power. The Department of Natural Resources closed state parks in the county for several days during cleanup operations.||The highest measured wind gusts included 69 mph at Sister Bay (Door Co.), 68 mph at Chambers Island (Door Co.), 64 mph at Northport Pier (Door Co.), 60 mph at Sturgeon Bay (Door Co.), and 60 mph at Algoma City Marina (Kewaunee Co.).

Strong winds developed across northeast Wisconsin on the southwest flank of an intense low pressure system that moved across Lake Superior. The highest measured wind gust was 54 mph at Gills Rock (Door Co.). The strong gusts downed several trees, knocking them onto power lines, on Washington Island and across other parts of far northern Door County. Several boats were damaged at Ellison Bay and Gills Rock by the strong winds and high waves.||Other wind gusts in the region included 45 mph at Algoma (Kewaunee Co.) and 40 mph at Wausau (Marathon Co.), Marshfield (Wood Co.) and Green Bay (Brown Co.).

Winds of at least 60 mph hit Washington Island on the northern tip of Door County, damaging power lines, downing trees and causing damage to the roof of at least one house. Other strong wind reports included measured gusts of 57 mph at Washington Island and 56 mph at Bellevue (Brown Co.), and an estimated gust of 53 mph in Hortonville (Outagamie Co.).||The winds were the result of a strong low pressure system that moved across Wisconsin.

Thunderstorms that developed in unstable air across northern Wisconsin produced severe weather as they moved through north-central Wisconsin and the Door Peninsula. Dime size hail fell at Long Lake (Florence co.) and Armstrong Creek (Forest co.). Strong winds downed trees and some power lines. A wind gust of 63 mph (55 knots) was measured by an amateur radio operator on the east side of Sturgeon Bay (Door co.).

Intense low pressure departing Wisconsin as high pressure was building into the state resulted in strong and gusty winds in the counties bordering Lake Michigan. The strong winds downed tree limbs and caused widespread power outages in Door county and scattered power outages in Kewaunee county. Fallen electrical wires caused some fires in Door county.

A cluster of thunderstorm moved across northeast and east central Wisconsin during the early morning hours of September 3rd. The storms produced heavy rains and strong winds. Winds from the storms knocked tree limbs onto power lines in Sturgeon Bay (Door co.).

Isolated severe thunderstorms developed in unstable air in the vicinity of a warm front over Wisconsin. Quarter size hail fell in Clintonville (Waupaca co.) and strong winds knocked down a few trees and power lines around Sturgeon Bay (Door co.).
