Power Outage in Gladeville, TN

Thunderstorm Wind. The emergency manager reported that two power poles were snapped near Central Pike and Lohman Road south of Mount Juliet. There were also about 8,200 power outages across Wilson County. Damages are a rough estimate.

Thunderstorm Wind. A suspected microburst in Lebanon caused significant wind damage with multiple downed trees and power lines across the city. Along Oak Street, numerous downed trees were reported with damages to vehicles. Also along Oak Street, a tree at a residential house fell, clipping the corner of the house before falling onto a car detailing building and a car. Along Darlenes Way, a screened-in back porch was demolished while the tin roof of an outbuilding was blown off. A garage door was destroyed while another residence reported ceiling and drywall damage. Finally, at Lebanon City Hall, two marble monuments weighing 3,500 to 4,500 pounds were tipped over. Damages are a rough estimate.

Scattered thunderstorms once again impacted Middle Tennessee on May 9, 2023. These thunderstorms were generally non-severe, however, one did produce a microburst in Lebanon. Estimated 55 to 65 mph winds from this microburst downed several trees and powerlines and caused other damage around the city.

High Wind. The highest wind gust measured in Wilson County was 62 mph from an AWOS station at the Lebanon Airport. Several hours of severe non-thunderstorm winds resulted in numerous damage reports, including downed and uprooted trees, downed powerlines, and roof and other property damage across all of Wilson County. Some of the worst damage was reported in Green Hill. A tree fell onto powerlines which snapped two power poles, dropping the powerlines onto an occupied car. Other downed trees blew a transformer at Grandview and Brookside Road. Another tree fell onto a house along Santa Rosa Road and along Tyne Boulevard. In Watertown, a tree fell onto powerlines along Parkerson Road, causing a fire and forcing the closure of the road. In Rural Hill, the roof was peeled off of Suggs Creek Market along Stewarts Ferry Pike. No injuries were reported in Wilson County. Damages are estimated.

A strong system and associated cold front over the Great Plains weakened considerably as it approached middle Tennessee on November 5, 2022, due to a general lack of instability across the area. Still, a strengthening surface pressure gradient ahead of this storm system allowed for winds to increase throughout much of the day ahead of the line of rain showers. Wind gusts between 35 to 50 mph were common, and this resulted in a few reports of downed trees and tree limbs as well as power outages, particularly across the Nashville metro area.
