A swath of damaging winds occurred over Lincoln County from Troy to Winfield. Several trees were blown down on to Highway KK just north of Troy. Also, numerous tree limbs, small trees and power lines were blown down. In Winfield, a small barn sustained moderate roof damage.

A 76 year old man died in his home from heat exhaustion. The power had been out for a couple of days due to thunderstorm damage.

A wide swath of damaging winds occurred across Lincoln County. Numerous trees, tree limbs and power lines were blown down near Hawk Point, Cave, Troy, Moscow Mills, Winfield and Elsberry areas. Some homes sustained roof damage from the fallen trees. Also, a vehicle in Elsberry sustained major damage from a fallen tree.

Thunderstorm winds blew down numerous power lines onto Highway 47 near the juncture with Highways H and J west of Troy. Also, 4 to 5 power poles were snapped off on about 4 feet above the ground on North Moore School Road west of Troy. In Winfield, a 5 inch diameter poplar tree was snapped off.

Thunderstorm winds caused widespread damage in Lincoln County. In Troy, winds lifted the roof off of an attached garage. The garage door was open at the time the winds blew through. Also, several trees and fences were blown down around town. South of Troy on Highway U, several power lines were blown down onto the roadway. In Elsberry, some shingles were blown off of several homes.

Thunderstorm winds caused a wide swath of damage extending from Troy to Winfield. Numerous trees, tree limbs and power lines were blown down. In Winfield, winds were estimated around 80 mph. Several garage doors were caved in and various lawn and play equipment were blown around. Also, several dozen large trees were blown onto highways, blocking them for a time.

Amateur radio spotters and local law enforcement reported trees and power lines down in several areas in Troy. Some large branches fell on homes causing minor damage. A couple of tractor trailer trucks were pushed over by the wind on US Highway 61.

A man died on 7/24/17, in his home due to heat exhaustion. The power had been out for a couple of days due to thunderstorm damage. High temperatures on July 24th were around 90 degrees.
