Snow accumulated 4 to 8 inches. The heavy snow caused trees and powers lines to fall, resulting in approximately 510 customers without power.
Strong thunderstorm winds brought down trees and branches, causing a vehicle to get stuck. Also wires were brought down with power outages on Vosburg Road.
Trees and power lines were blown down in several municipalities.
High winds developed during the afternoon hours on Monday 29th and lasted into early morning hours on Tuesday the 30th from Hurricane Sandy. The high winds knocked downed numerous trees and power lines county-wide. Peak sustained winds were estimated between 30 and 40 mph with peak wind gusts estimated at 70 mph over the higher terrain areas. 4 out of 5 911 communications towers were taken offline during the height of the storm. In addition, there were an estimated 2000 customers without power. It took a few days for the power to be restored.
Numerous trees and power-lines were blown down. An estimated 1000 residences were without power.
