Wildfire. The 147 Fire started from power lines at CR 29 in Deaf Smith and quickly hit Bridwell Ranch in Oldham and headed towards I-40. There was one home saved, but 3 other structures were lost. Approximately 3717 acres were burned.

Wildfire. The Allison wildfire began just east of County Road E and just north of Farm to Market Road 26. The wildfire consumed approximately 400 acres and was caused by downed power lines.

December 10, 2021

Winter Storm. A combination sleet and freezing rain led to light ice accumulations which caused hazardous driving conditions the morning of Monday, October 26th. Isolated sleet accumulaitons just under 1/2 inch occurred in a narrow band across the county. Additional sleet accumulations upwards of half an inch along with light freezing rain accumulations occurred on the morning of the 27th. Another freezing rain episode during the evening of the 27th lead to 0.25 to 0.30 inches of ice accumulation mainly in the far eastern zones of the county. This lead to broken tree limbs and power poles leading to power outages. One more round of winter weather dropped three to eight inches of snow on the evening of the 28th. The higher snow amounts of around 8 inches were mainly in the north central portion of the county.

Tornado. A brief tornado touched down in a rural area northwest of Dawn. No damage was reported. The tornado was rated EF0 due to the lack of damage to a power line that was crossed.
