Tornado. A brief EF-0 tornado occurred just west of Rosebud around 7:25pm. Spotters reported a funnel and brief rope tornado, and damage to trees and powerlines was observed along FM-1963 one mile west of Rosebud. The tornado was likely in progress for around one minute or less and lifted prior to reaching the town. Maximum winds were likely around 70 mph.

Thunderstorm Wind. Strong winds in Barclay broke several power poles, causing a power outage in the community. In additional a large metal barn was nearly destroyed.

Thunderstorm Wind. Thunderstorm winds caused damage to power poles and power lines in the Rosebud area. Some damage to outbuildings and other structures was also reported. Wind driven hail may have also cracked and shattered windows, but no hail size could be obtained.

Extreme Cold/Wind Chill. Extreme cold gripped the county for several days. Overnight lows were near or below 25 degrees Fahrenheit almost all week. The period of February 15-16th was the coldest with low temperatures in the single digits. The maximum temperature on the 15th was only in the teens. Wind chill values during the 14th-16th were between 10 to -10 degrees Fahrenheit most of the time. The cold temperatures resulted in an extreme amount of damage to pipes, infrastructure, and power.
