Thunderstorm Wind. Wind damage was reported in and around Cleburne. The damage included power lines down, large tree limbs broken, sheds damaged, and minor roof damage with aluminum paneling pulled up.

Thunderstorm Wind. Amateur radio reported power poles and trees down near Highway 174 at Highway 3048. A second report of shed damage and minor damage to gutters and shingles at a home in this same location was also received.

Tornado. Per videos from storm chasers, a brief tornado touched down a few miles east of Grandview. During its brief time on the ground, it damaged power lines and a utility pole along with trees in the area. This is consistent with EF-0 damage caused by 65 mph winds.

Extreme Cold/Wind Chill. Extreme cold gripped the county for several days. Overnight lows were below 20 degrees Fahrenheit almost all week. The period of February 15-16th was the coldest with low temperatures between 3 and -3 degrees Fahrenheit. The maximum temperature on the 15th was only in the teens. Wind chill values during the 14th-16th were between 10 to -15 degrees Fahrenheit most of the time. The cold temperatures resulted in an extreme amount of damage to pipes, infrastructure, and power.

February 14, 2021

Tornado. The tornado began at approximately 5:41 PM CST in an open field west of CR-913A and damaged several homes and buildings near Piester and CR-913A. A barn was flipped and came to rest on the side of a house. Several homes in the area had damaged roofs and/or collapsed attached awnings. A large horse trailer was moved and an 18 wheeler trailer was overturned. A small 5 ft by 6 ft storage shed was damaged as well as 4 power poles leaning 10-15 degrees. Just northeast of this area, several homes near the end of Dove Meadow Lane sustained minor damage. Shingles were removed from homes and sheds were damaged. The tornado dissipated before reaching FM 1014. This tornado was rated an EF-1 with maximum winds of 90 mph.
