Thunderstorm Wind. Thunderstorm winds downed a power line that fell across Watt Abbitt Road, blew a portion of a roof off two barns and onto Wagon Wheel Road, and blew a tree down on a shed with a vehicle parked inside it. Damage values are estimated.

Winter Storm. A Cooperative Weather Observer and members of the general public observed ice accumulations ranging from 0.25 to locally 0.75 inches in thickness across Appomattox County, including around the communities of Evergreen, Appomattox and Bent Creek. This icing was intermixed with sleet accumulations in spots of up to 0.3 inches. Over 283 power outages were reported across the county due to downed power lines. Virginia State Police responded to calls for nine disabled vehicles and at least 37 traffic crashes caused by the hazardous road conditions in Appomattox County and the surrounding region. No fatalities were reported. Key impacts: power outages; hazardous to impossible travel conditions; automobile accidents; widespread tree damage.
