Wappingers Falls Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
A severe thunderstorm produced microbursts around Wappingers Falls. Two main areas of damage were noted. The first was at Bowdoin Park along the Hudson River where numerous trees were downed. The second was near Mesier Park in the village of Wappingers Falls where approximately 50 trees were downed with some falling on homes. At least one power pole was snapped. The length of the damage was approximately 1.5 miles, with a width of approximately 275 yards.
