Washington Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
Wind gusts of up to 55 MPH were recorded by the AWOS at Washington County Airport. A roof was blown off of a mobile home in Arden. Minor wind damage consisting of shingles and downspouts being torn off of a building at Vulcan Village in Philipsburg. Power poles were downed near Monongahela, and aluminum siding was ripped off of a home at Cokeburg.
Cove Road blocked due to downed tree landing on road and power lines. Over 700 people without power across the county.
A tree was blown down on to a power line on East Highland Drive.
A combination of snow and ice occurred across Washington County from February 3-4th; 0.3 inches of ice was measured near McDonald and the city of Washington, PA, snow measurements the morning of February 4th was between 1-2 inches. Note, 20,000 customers were without power the morning of February 4th as well (20% of the county).
A local 911 Call Center reported trees and power lines down at Thompsonville Rd and Parkwood Lane in Peters Township.

My wife and I are both in our eighties. My wife has a serious lung problem, and is on a nebulizer , and other breathing equipment 4 times or more per day With this hot weather her breathing is seriously compromised.
