Wind gusts as high as 65 mph in Weston and 61 mph at the Wausau Municipal Airport downed numerous trees and power lines in the area. Around 9,000 people in Wausau lost power. An uprooted tree broke a gas line and trees on power lines started some fires in the area.

A number of trees were knocked down throughout the county, creating scattered power outages. Three houses sustained damage from fallen trees, including one in Mosinee and two in Wausau. The ASOS at the airport measured a wind gust to 61 mph.

A strong late season storm system brought significant snow, sleet and gusty winds to northeast Wisconsin from the late morning of April 12 through the early morning hours of April 13. The wet, heavy snow and strong winds produced some isolated power outages across north-central Wisconsin. A heavy band of snow from 6 to 15 inches fell north of a Marshfield to Wausaukee line with lighter amounts to the south.||Some of the higher snowfall totals included 15.0 inches in Spread Eagle (Florence Co.), 13.0 inches in Gleason (Lincoln Co.), 12.8 inches in Pelican Lake (Oneida Co.), 12.5 inches near Merrill (Lincoln Co.) as well as Argonne (Forest Co.), 11.8 inches near Amberg (Marinette Co.), and 10.0 inches in Lac Vieux Desert (Vilas Co.).

The storms downed trees and power lines across parts of northern Wisconsin and produced torrential rainfall that caused street flooding in Lac du Flambeau (Vilas Co.), Merrill (Lincoln Co.) and Antigo (Langlade Co.).

Freezing rain accumulations of 0.25 to 0.40 were reported across central Wisconsin.||Despite the heavy, wet snow and ice accumulation, there was only isolated damage to trees and power lines.

Several trees and a few power lines were blown down on the south side of County Highway O, and along County Highway D, and a few trees were blown down along State Highway 17.

The storm knocked out power to more than 6,000 customers in central and north-central Wisconsin. Hail to 1.25 inches in diameter damaged an automobile in Weston (Marathon, Co.).

Quarter to walnut size hail fell as the storms moved through Oconto County and heavy rainfall caused some urban flooding as the storms passed through Merrill (Lincoln Co.).

A low pressure system that moved from Colorado to Wisconsin produced a large area of heavy, wet snow across parts of Wisconsin and Minnesota. A widespread snowfall of 8 to 16 inches, with locally higher amounts along with frequent wind gusts over 30 mph, affected much of north-central and far northeast Wisconsin. Snow fell at the rate of two to three inches per hour in the heaviest bands. Less snow fell in central and east-central Wisconsin as milder air surged north in advance of the storm system. ||The wet snow and strong winds caused power outages to as many as 14,000 homes and businesses at the height of the storm. In addition, some roads in northern Wisconsin were nearly impassable during the heaviest snowfall. ||North-central Wisconsin received the most snow from the storm. Some totals there included: 21.0 inches near Minocqua (Oneida Co.), 20.2 inches in Rhinelander (Oneida Co.), 19.0 inches at Laona (Forest Co.), 18.3 inches at St. Germain (Vilas Co.), and 17.9 inches at Crandon and near Argonne (Forest Co.). Totals from northeast Wisconsin included: 15.0 inches near Athelstane (Marinette Co.), 14.5 inches at Wausaukee (Marinette Co.), 14.0 inches near Beaver (Marinette Co.), 13.0 inches at Caldron Falls Reservoir (Marinette Co.), 10.1 inches at Washington Island (Door Co.), and 10.0 inches at Oconto (Oconto County).||The storm system that generated the heavy snow also produced killer tornadoes and severe thunderstorms from Kansas into Kentucky.

Roofs were torn from two machine sheds near Antigo (Langlade County) and an unoccupied mobile home and a car were destroyed.||The highest measured wind gust was 65 mph in Weston (Marathon County), and a gust to 61 mph was recorded at Wausau Municipal Airport. The highest estimated gusts were 65 mph near Antigo and 60 mph near Sayner (Vilas County).

The storms produced hail to golf ball size, wind gusts to 95 mph, funnel clouds and heavy rainfall that led to flash flooding. About 11,000 customers were still without electricity on the morning of the 24th.|The highest snowfall totals included 8 inches 8 miles east of Stevens Point (Portage Co.), 7.5 inches 4 miles northeast of Rhinelander, 7.4 inches at Land O Lakes (Vilas Co.) and Elcho (Langlade Co.) and 7.0 inches at Wausau and Presque Isle (Vilas Co.).

Penny to nickel size hail fell throughout Marathon county. In Wausau (Marathon co.), penny size hail covered the ground and heavy rain caused some street flooding. High winds downed trees 10 miles north of Stevens Point (Portage co.), a funnel cloud was spotted at Custer (Portage co.). A waterspout touched down, and remained nearly stationary, for about a minute in eastern Lake Winnebago (Calumet co.). A tree that was struck by lightning downed power lines in Scandinavia (Waupaca co.).

Heavy snow fell across parts of central and northeast Wisconsin as low pressure moved from north-central Iowa, across southern Wisconsin, into lower Michigan. The highest snowfall totals were in extreme northeast Wisconsin. In Florence county Long Lake had 9.0 inches of snow and Aurora had 8.9 inches. Other significant totals included 7.8 inches at Wausau (Marathon co.) and 7.0 inches at Merrill (Lincoln co.), Elcho (Langlade co.) and Hiles (Forest co.). Marshfield (Wood co.) received 6.0 inches of snow, breaking its record for the most snow in a single October day. The previous record at Marshfield was 4.9 inches set on October 11, 1917.In parts of central Wisconsin lesser amounts of heavy, wet snow deposited on trees that still had their leaves, causing their limbs to break and knock down power lines. Power outages affected about 4,000 customers on the north side of Stevens Point (Portage co.), about 2,200 customers in the Marshfield Electric and Water District and 1,143 customers in the Waupaca area (Waupaca co.).

Severe thunderstorms developed in unstable air in the vicinity of an east to west warm front that stretched across northern Wisconsin. These storms produced large hail, wind damage and two tornadoes. Hail to golf ball size covered the ground in the Minocqua area (Oneida co.) and golf ball to tennis ball size hail fell from Arbor Vitae (Vilas co.) to St. Germain (Vilas co.). The most significant wind damage was in southern Oneida county. In the Woodboro area (Oneida co.) a tree that was downed by high winds smashed a pickup truck.A tornado touched down in southeast Florence county. It destroyed a pole barn, a garage that was under construction and 6 to 10 outbuildings in its path. It caused minor damage to a farm home and downed 150 to 250 trees and power lines, causing numerous power outages. The tornado tracked east-northeast across the Menominee river into upper Michigan where it continued to do damage.Another tornado that touched down 8 miles west of Tomahawk (Lincoln co.) did significant damage, uprooting or snapping off thousands of trees along its path. A house in the path of the tornado sustained major structural damage. All outbuildings on the property were destroyed, a camping trailer was thrown 300 feet and a car was thrown into a tree, coming to rest at least 15 feet above the ground. Two barns were also destroyed.The storms knocked out power to around 3,000 customers in the Tomahawk area (Lincoln co.) and about 600 customers in the Rhinelander and Crandon areas.

According to a press release from a utility company, approximately 7,300 customers in north central and northeast Wisconsin were still without power early in the evening.Peak measured winds included 51 mph at Wausau (Marathon co.), 48 mph at Stevens Point (Portage co.) and 47 mph at Marshfield (Wood co.) and Antigo (Langlade co.). Winds speeds were estimated in the 50 to 55 mph range in Oconto county and around 60 mph at Peshtigo (Marinette co.) and Ellison Bay (Door co.).

In western Marathon county a weather spotter for a local television station reported frequent wind gusts to 60 mph for about 10 minutes as the storms passed.

A cold front moved into a hot, humid and unstable airmass across Wisconsin leading to the development of severe thunderstorms in the central and north central parts of the state. High winds tore the roof off a warehouse in Wausau, otherwise damage from the storms consisted mainly of downed trees and powers lines. As of noon the next day there were still 2,200 customers without power in north central Wisconsin according to a press release from a utility company. As many as 7,500 customers lost power at some time during the storms.New record high temperatures were set at Appleton (Outagamie co.) 99 degrees; Antigo (Langlade co.), Sturgeon Bay (Door co.) and Manitowoc (Manitowoc co.) 97 degrees and at Green Bay (Brown co.) 96 degrees. Wausau tied its record high of 95 degrees.

Snowfall totals were highest in Vilas county with 10.4 inches at Winchester, 9.3 inches 4 miles southwest of Presque Isle and 9.0 inches at Presque Isle. The freezing rain caused tree limbs and power lines to fall, knocking out power to around 3,300 customers, mainly around Marinette (Marinette co.).

Up to a quarter inch of ice accumulated in some spots, with the rest of the area picking up a light glaze. Oneida county and northern Lincoln county were hardest hit.
