A strong late season storm system brought significant snow, sleet and gusty winds to northeast Wisconsin from the late morning of April 12 through the early morning hours of April 13. The wet, heavy snow and strong winds produced some isolated power outages across north-central Wisconsin. A heavy band of snow from 6 to 15 inches fell north of a Marshfield to Wausaukee line with lighter amounts to the south.||Some of the higher snowfall totals included 15.0 inches in Spread Eagle (Florence Co.), 13.0 inches in Gleason (Lincoln Co.), 12.8 inches in Pelican Lake (Oneida Co.), 12.5 inches near Merrill (Lincoln Co.) as well as Argonne (Forest Co.), 11.8 inches near Amberg (Marinette Co.), and 10.0 inches in Lac Vieux Desert (Vilas Co.).
Thunderstorms developed in moist and unstable air ahead of a passing cold front. Some of the storms became severe, damaging trees and power lines and dropping large hail. Torrential rainfall also accompanied many of the storms.
A strengthening low pressure system, combined with a very moist air mass and an upper level disturbance to produce thunderstorms. Some of the storms became severe with damaging winds that downed trees and power lines, and damaged a barn and some outbuildings. A gust to 63 mph was measured as the storms moved across Washington Island.
Thunderstorms developed in the Dakotas on the night of June 10th in response to very warm and humid air interacting with a stalled frontal system. The line of storms moved across Minnesota and into western Wisconsin on the morning of June 11th and continued across much of central, north central and northeast Wisconsin during the late morning and early afternoon hours.||The storms produced damaging winds, mainly north of Highway 29, downing numerous trees and power lines, flattening at least 2 barns, and causing roof damage to several other buildings. At one point, 55,000 people were without power.
More thunderstorms developed later on the afternoon of June 11th in the vicinity of a surface frontal boundary. The storms downed trees and power lines across parts of northern Wisconsin and produced torrential rainfall that caused street flooding in Lac du Flambeau (Vilas Co.), Merrill (Lincoln Co.) and Antigo (Langlade Co.).

What Causes Power Outages?
- Severe weather (high winds, lightning, winter storms, heat waves, rain or flooding can cause damage to power lines or equipment);

What are the Top Outage Safety Tips?
- Stay away from the downed power lines, park vehicles in protected areas;
- Unplug appliances and electronics, limit cell phone use to conserve battery life;
