The Athens-Clarke County 911 center reported a few trees and power lines blown down from the Bogart area to the north side of Athens, including Leora Circle at Aubrey Drive, the 200 block of Evans Street, and the 1300 block of Tallassee Road.

Three vehicles were damaged when trees fell on them as they were driven along the Athens Perimeter near Tallassee and Mitchell Bridge Road. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from these incidents.

The trees brought down many power lines as well, causing nearly 5000 residents to be without power during the evening hours. Much of the damage occurred in the Cedar Creek Subdivision. Some of the downed trees blocked roads, including Midway road, on which both lanes of traffic were blocked, and on Oglethorpe Avenue near the entrance to the U.S. Navy Supply Corps School, where both lanes were blocked as well.
