Power Outage in Anawalt, WV

Flood. Numerous vehicles and basements of homes were inundated with water in eastern McDowell County. The quick amount of water also resulted in a swath of downed trees and power lines. Jenkinsjones Mountain Road was closed for a decent duration of time due to flooding at Anawalt.

High Wind. Over 10,000 homes in the county were without power as a result of blown down trees and power lines throughout Welch, Iaeger, and other townships.

Thunderstorm Wind. Several trees were blown down and resulted in power outages in the Welch, Avondale, and Gary communities. In Gary, a tree was blown down and caused damage to a house.
