An early mix of sleet and freezing rain brought around 0.25 inches of new sleet and light ice accumulations on trees and elevated surfaces. Then heavier freezing rain during the afternoon caused rapid accumulations of ice on trees, power lines, and roads in the county. By the afternoon roads were very hazardous, and a combination of ice and rain even led to some flooded roads and highways. Total ice accumulations through the evening were around 0.35 inches across much of the county, but amounts of up to 0.50 inches were reported in some locations. Downed trees and power lines were widespread across the county, and the weight of ice also collapsed several carports and patio awnings. Some roads had up to 3 inches of sleet and slush combined from the current and previous winter storms.

This tornado began just southwest of Whites Lane Road snapping a couple of trees. The tornado continued northeast and destroyed two outbuildings and a shed just southwest of Lake City. The tornado also snapped a couple of power poles along with several trees at this location. The tornado destroyed an outbuilding near the intersection of Highway 149 and Lake City Road. The tornado continued northeast near the Yazoo County Airport snapping a couple of trees. The tornado destroyed a home of off Carter Road, which was poorly anchored and was of wood construction. The tornado snapped several power poles off of Lake City Road and took the roof off of an outbuilding on Cato Road. This tornado ended just east of Yazoo Levee Road, snapping a few more trees. The maximum estimated winds with this tornado were 120 mph.

This brief tornado started just on the Hinds County side of the Big Black River and moved north-northeast into far southern Yazoo County. Most of this was noted by radar and the debris signature. From the storm survey and access to the Big Holloman Hunting Club, timber damage was the primary impact where many hardwood trees were snapped or uprooted. A power line into the camp site was down due to a tree falling on the line. The tornado dissipated before reaching Cox Ferry Road. Total path length was 2.86 miles. Maximum rating and wind speed was EF1 and 95 mph in Yazoo County. Max width was 300 yards in Yazoo County.

This tornado touched down in the Vaughan community near Bennett Road and tracked generally northeast to Pickens and then into southwest Attala County. Initial damage was numerous snapped and uprooted trees and a few power lines down. The tornado grew in size and became a bit stronger as it tracked along and just north of Pepper Wilson Road. In addition to the tree damage, several outbuildings were damaged along with a dozen or so houses sustaining some degree of roof damage. The tornado crossed I-55 then basically traveled along Vaughan Road as it approached the south side of Pickens. All along this portion of the path, hundreds of trees were snapped or uprooted and several power poles were leaning. Closer to Pickens, the tornado intensified and reached EF2. Significant tree damage was noted just to the south of the road. One large metal storage shed was destroyed along with several power lines and poles down. The tornado stayed just south of downtown Pickens and crossed US Highway 51 where many more trees were uprooted and snapped along with a large section of power lines down. At the natural gas pumping station, a large metal building had some of the walls pulled out. The tornado then moved into the Big Black River bottom and into southwest Attala County, where tree damage continued as was reported by the property owner. The tornado then moved out of the river bottom area and destroyed a large hay barn and then snapped 6 power poles along County Road 4002. Significant tree damage also occurred here to a grove of hardwood trees. An EF2 rating was given for this part of the path as well. The tornado continued northeast and crossed a few locations along Highway 14. A few homes sustained roof damage here along with power lines down and numerous trees damaged. The tornado made a more eastward jog then dissipated along Highway 14. Max sustained winds were 112 mph. Total path length 18.83 miles.

The tornado shifted to the northeast towards northeast Warren County, causing numerous uprooted and the snapping of hardwood and softwood trees limbs. Several of these trees fell atop of power lines. The tornado crossed county lines to across southern Yazoo County , resulting in several snapped large hardwood tree limbs along Oak Grove Church Road. The tornado finally lifted at Holloman Road, but not before snapping several hardwood tree trunks. US 61, snapping large hardwood and softwood tree limbs and snapping hardwood trunks along Brister Road, Boy Scout Road and Oak Ridge Road. A swath of damaging winds occurred across northern Yazoo County, which started near Fordyke Road where trees were blown down. A roof was blown off of a home, outbuildings were destroyed and trees and powerlines were blown down off of Shipp Road.

This strong tornado started east of Bentonia near Indian Creek where minor tree damage was noted and continued to travel along a path just north of the Big Black River. The tornado caused minor structural damage along Scotland Road, where it also downed hundreds of trees. The tornado was strongest as it crossed Trail End Road, where it snapped wooden power poles, caused minor structural damage and snapped and uprooted nearly 1000 trees. A tin roof was ripped completely off of a mobile home along Linwood Rd in the Berryville Community. Tree damage was also surveyed along near and along I-55 near and north of the Vaughan exit. The tornado crossed over I-55 before dissipating south of Pickens. The maximum estimated winds with this tornado was 120 mph.

This strong tornado started several miles west of Pickens off Highway 432 and tracked northeast for roughly 23 miles. The tornado impacted areas west of Goodman, Holmes County State Park and a direct hit on the town of Durant. The tornado was very wide and was roughly 1.2 miles wide at its widest point. Across the entire path, thousands of trees were damaged/uprooted/snapped. Hundreds of power poles and power lines were down as well. The large majority of structures that were damaged were indicated by minor to moderate roof damage with singles/siding torn off to partial loss of decking. Multiple structures were more heavily damaged by trees falling on them. Some of the more significant tree and structural damage occurred along Courts Road, Salem Road, Ebenezer Pickens Road and Jordan Road. Four mobile homes were destroyed along Jordan Road, including a new, well secured, mobile home. Significant tree damage also occurred along Highway 51 and along State Park Road just west of Highway 51. The town of Durant took a direct hit. Many buildings and homes sustained minor to moderate roof damage. A few less sound structures were destroyed. Numerous power lines were also down. The tornado continued a bit further to the northeast before dissipating. The total path length was 23.4 miles.

The tornado maintained this strength for a number of miles as it moved northeast, snapping, splintering and uprooting a number of hardwood and softwood trees as well as downing powerlines. The tornado weakened somewhat as it crossed into Holmes County, before reintensifying again at Ebenezer Coxburg Road. Here is where the tornado reached its maximum intensity, with several homes and a church suffering significant roof damage along with swaths of trees being splintered or snapped. Winds here were estimated to be 115 mph, at the low end of EF2. The tornado then weakened again before dissipating just to the northwest of the Brozville community. The tornado had a total path length of 29 miles across Yazoo and Holmes Counties.

Tropical Storm Isidore moved onshore along the Louisiana coast early in the morning of September 26. The weakening storm then moved northeast across eastern Mississippi during the day. The heavy rainfall associated with the storm resulted in significant river and flash flooding across much of Mississippi. Twenty-four hour rainfall totals between 5 and 10 inches were common over much of Mississippi, especially in the southern part of the state, where twenty-four amounts exceeded 9 inches near Hattiesburg. Gradient wind gusts between 35 and 45 miles per hour combined with the saturated ground to lead to numerous downed trees and powerlines over the state. Most of the damage was seen along and east of the Natchez Trace, near the path of the storm's diffuse center. One indirect fatality was reported just east of the Kalem community in Scott County. Here, a falling tree struck a truck driven by a 31 year-old male. Damage from Isidore was an estimated $500,000.
