Alliance Power Outages Caused by Weather

The wind sensor at the Alliance Airport measured a peak gust of 58 mph. Some power outages and uprooted trees were reported at Alliance.
Widespread power outages were reported due to knocked over powerlines in addition to uprooted trees.
Eight to ten inches of snow was reported in and around Alliance. There were numerous broken tree limbs and branches from the heavy snow, as well as scattered power outages as limbs fell on utility lines.
Wind gusts were estimated at 60 to 65 mph 15 miles northwest of the Alliance Airport. Utility lines were down and power was out for several hours.
Power poles down in western part of town. General Manager of PREMA said the storm took out roughly 40 electrical poles around the area. The downed poles caused roughly 1,000 PREMA electrical services to be stopped across the county.
