There were 118 severe thunderstorm and 71 tornado warnings across Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa Wednesday night.

UPDATE: MidAmerican working to restore power to thousands of customers | KMEG

UPDATE Thursday 12/16 8:30 a. m. : MidAmerican is reporting 90 customers in Woodbury County now without power Thursday. 180 customers in Storm Lake are currently without power. MidAmerican Energy says that despite the challenging working conditions overnight, crews were able to make great progress and restored over 30,000 customers. The high winds and severe storms caused extreme damage in some areas taking down both transmission and distribution poles and wires.
