Several roads in the area were blocked by the fallen trees, tree limbs and power lines. In Freeburg, the grain bins next to the high school were destroyed. Also, a large barn lost part of it's roof near Freeburg. No deaths or injuries were reported.

Thunderstorm winds caused significant tree and power line damage in St. Libory. One home sustained moderate roof damage due to a fallen tree. No deaths or injuries were reported.
Thunderstorm winds blew down several power lines and damaged a bank sign due to wind-driven large hail.
A tornado touched down at 7:03 PM CDT at the intersection of West E Street and N 7th Street and tracked to the north northeast. Damage was limited to trees and power lines. The tornado lifted and dissipated on Anna Street just east of Helen Street. The tornado was rated EF0 with a max wind speed of 85 mph. The path length was 1.12 miles and a max path width of 90 yards. No deaths or injuries were reported.

An Ice Storm hit parts of West Central and Southwest Illinois on Martin Luther King Holiday Weekend. Ice amounts ranged form .25 to .40 inch. Impacts were limited to some scattered power outages and transportation slow downs. Many problems were averted as most schools and businesses closed on Friday, the first day of the event.
A cold front moved through the region and interacted with the remnants of Hurricane Ike. Widespread heavy rain was reported across Missouri and Illinois causing major flooding across the region. Also, winds from the remnants of Hurricane Ike caused tree, power line and building damage in some locations.
A low pressure system over central Illinois intensified rapidly during the early morning hours of May 11. Winds gusts ranged from 45 to 55 mph across the region. There were widespread reports of tree and power line damage.
An early March winter storm brought heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain to parts of southwest Illinois. Some light snow fell overnight on the 3rd, but then a band of heavy snow developed during the early afternoon hours on the 4th from the St. Louis Metropolitan area north into Jersey and Macoupin counties. Six to 12 inches of snow fell with the snow falling at the rate of 2 to 3 inches per hour during the early afternoon. Further to the southeast, up to a quarter inch of ice and/or 1 inch of sleet accumulated. There were scattered reports of trees down and power outages. The town of Salem in Marion county reported numerous trees down and power outages. Two people died in a traffic accident in Madison county near Collinsville.
Light freezing rain and sleet fell across southwest and south central Illinois the weekend of December 8th into the early part of the next week. From 1/8 to 1/4 inch of ice accumulated along with light amounts of sleet. Travel was disrupted across the area, but overall the region fared well with little damage and few power outages reported.
