A tornado touched down along County Road 864 in extreme Southern Tishomingo County and traveled northeast toward Belmont. Thirty homes and a few apartments were damaged or destroyed in Belmont. Two businesses were destroyed and the town's maintenance yard was severely damaged. Numerous trees and power lines were knocked down. One tree fell on a vehicle and trapped the driver. The tornado lifted northeast of Belmont near County Road 993.
