Numerous trees and power lines were blown down throughout the city of Cumberland.
Numerous trees and wires blew down near La Vale and Corriganville between Frostburg and Cumberland. A tree blew down blocking the roadway on Bedford Road Northeast and Valley Road Northeast. A tree blew down onto power lines on MD-36 Mount Savage Road Northwest near MD-638 Parkersburg Road Northwest. Wires blew down near the intersection of MD-36 Mount Savage Road Northwest and Portertown Road. Wires blew down on Greenpoint Road. A tree blew down onto power lines on MD-36 Mount Savage Road Northwest near Moss Cottage Lane Northwest. A tree blew down blocking MD-36 Mount Savage Road Northwest above the Brick Yard. A tree blew down onto power lines on Woodcock Hollow Road.
Two trees blew down on power lines near the intersection of Thompson Corner Road and MD-234 Budds Creek Road.
A tree and power lines were down near the intersection of Braddock Road and Seton Drive.
A tree and multiple power lines were reported down in the 1500 lock of Frederick St, resulting in the closure of the road.

An upper level low pressure system drifting northwest towards the Great Lakes and increase southerly flow at the surface combine to trigger isolated showers and thunderstorms across western Maryland. One storm moving over Allegany County became severe, downing trees and power lines in Cumberland, MD.
Scattered thunderstorms developed over western Maryland during the afternoon of May 10th. A storm in Allegany County became severe, producing damaging winds that downed trees and power lines.
A strong cold front crossed the region and caused strong winds to occur. There were reports of a few trees downed and minor property damage due to the strong winds. Tree limbs and powerlines were downed in the city of Cumberland. Also, some siding material was pulled loose on a building in Cumberland.
Ice accumulations totaled around one-quarter inch across portions of Western Maryland, including parts of Allegany County. Newspaper reports indicated that several thousand people were without power due to downed ice-covered trees and powerlines. The freezing rain conditions occurred due to warm southerly winds and abundant moisture over-riding the cold air near the ground.
A major winter storm occurred on December 15-16 across portions of the region. A low pressure storm tracked from the Gulf Coast to the Delmarva Peninsula by Friday morning, December 16. With warm air being drawn north into the cold air already in place, significant accumulations of freezing rain occurred across much of the area. Significant power outages occurred, especially in the Central Shenandoah Valley. Heavy snowfall also occurred across the higher elevations mainly along the Allegany Front, with nearly a foot of storm total snowfall. Ice accumulations in the Shenandoah Valley were up to 1 inch. 5 fatalities occurred as a result of this major winter storm (indirect). All of these fatalities were traffic related. Dominion Power reported more than 40,000 customers without power in portions of the area.
