Trees and large limbs down due to damaging winds . Roof damage to one building and most of the town of David City was without power.

Periods of freezing rain produced ice accumulations around a quarter of an inch. This resulted in some tree damage, as well as isolated power outages.

Widespread damaging winds were observed in Butler County during the evening. Winds gusts to near 60 mph and left many tree limbs and powerlines downed.

Snowfall of 8 to as much as 15 inches fell across Butler county with 15 inches reported in David City for the highest amount received from this storm in eastern Nebraska. The heavy wet snow caused scattered tree damage and power outages in the county.

Rain changed to a brief period of freezing rain then to heavy wet snow during the early morning hours of April 5th. The snow continued into mid morning of that day. The precipitation was accompanied by north winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph. Although snowfall ended during the morning of the 5th, the strong winds caused continued drifting snow in open areas into the afternoon hours which caused difficult driving conditions due strong winds blowing across icy roads. The ice, heavy wet snow and strong winds knocked down at least 75 power poles in the county which caused 3,000 customers to lose power. The hardest hit area was north of David City. Snowfall amounts were around 4 to 8 inches across the county, with 8 inches in David City the highest reported.

Winds that were estimated to have gusted to 60 mph broke a transformer on a substation that damaged three rural substations and knocked the power out to around 1,500 customers west of David City.

Freezing rain accumulated around 1/4 of an inch over much of the county. The icing downed tree limbs and caused scattered power outages.
