A line of severe thunderstorms with 60-70mph winds moved through Rankin County on the afternoon of May 4th. These winds resulted in a swath of wind damage across the county, especially across the cities of Pearl, Flowood and Brandon. Numerous trees and power lines were downed across the county and several homes sustained minor roof damage with shingles blown off. The ASOS at Jackson Medgar Wiley Every International Airport also measured a 58mph wind gust.
