Power Outage in Hackberry, LA

Power lines and poles downed in Hackberry on Johnny Benoit Road.

Power lines and poles were downed onto Highway 82 between Holly Beach and Cameron.

Straight line wind damage occurred from just north of the intersection of Big Pasture Road and Highway 384 to Donna Road in Big Lake. One metal roof was removed and numerous tree branches were broken along the path. Power lines were downed in the area and fences were also blown over. Additional wind damage occurred at Grand Lake High School to the east where fences around the baseball field were bent. Winds were estimated at 60 to 70 mph.

The tornado severely damaged one home and three mobile homes, destroyed several barns and garages, and blew down many trees and power lines. Two minor injuries were reported. One farmer reported his cattle running around in circles in a field as the tornado passed nearby.
